Our Next Play:
Will be two one act performances – ‘The Dangerous Afternoon’ – a dark comedy set in a residential home, and ‘The Relaxation Class – a lighter comedy based on an exercise class for pregnant women and their partners written by our own Mike Ingham.
The performances will be on the Thursday 19th, Friday 20th and Saturday 21st of November.

Play Reading:
The next play reading is very generously being hosted by Gill at Ebsleigh Farm, Bridestowe, on Tuesday 14th July at 7.30pm. Please let her know on 01837 861225, as soon as possible if you would like to attend as we will be doing the read through and choosing the actors for the parts in the above plays.
The last play reading went very well and I would like to give a big thank you to Ron and Margaret Wawman for hosting this..

Follies Play Reading:
The Bridestowe Follies are holding a play reading of ‘This Happy Breed’ at Cheryl and Geoff’s home in Sourton on the first Monday in September.
Please contact Gill on 01837 861225 if you wish to attend.

Lifton School Drama Group:  This has been running since the beginning of the Summer term and is going well.
Keith Rattray, Rosa Watkinson and Amanda Greenhalgh are working with a group of sixteen children to create a play based on the poem ‘The Pied Piper of Hamelin’ by Robert Browning. There will be a performance during the Leaver’s Day assembly in the afternoon of Wednesday 22nd July.

Florry the lorry (back): Toni is looking for helpers to collate the large collection of costumes that Red Spider possesses this Summer.
If anyone can help please let her know on 01837 871355 so that a suitable date can be arranged.

The Red Spider Company have successfully purchased a ‘lorry body’ for storage of all stock (scenery, costumes, etc).
It is sited at Venn farm, has been steam cleaned and is awaiting connection to electricity. Help will be needed for transferring and loading everything and volunteers will be very much welcomed for this.
Please ring Bill Stuart for further information on 01822 870111.

‘Love’s a Luxury’: The performances on Wednesday 25th, Thursday 26th and Friday 27th of March 2009 were, we have been reliably informed, both hilarious and well performed. The set was a masterpiece and many comments were made on its professional appearance. Our thanks go to Steve Tyler for the fine painting of the back and side panels. The farce was expertly directed by Bill Stuart and the actors all gave fine performances. Even the audio performance by the prompter (Mrs Jean Greenhalgh) was a source of amusement to the audience. The team of actors, stage management and producers all had great fun in its creation and successful fruition

Red Spider Annual Dinner: A wonderful meal was had by all who attended this dinner at Trethorne.
We would like to thank Ron Wawman for his marvellous after-dinner speech, which covered the birth and development of the Red Spider Company to its present successful and vibrant condition.

The DVD of Like a Buoy is still available. It has been re-mastered since the official showing and is awaiting the design and printing of a simple cover but this can be forwarded later to all who wish to obtain the DVD now. It is a double disk package and is priced at £7.50 per set. Please contact Caroline Stuart on 01822 870111 if you wish to purchase a copy.

A membership form can be downloaded by clicking here; we would be pleased if all those who would like to become members would fill this in and return it to Bill Stuart. We are very pleased that many have already done so.
