Message from Maureen Cooke, Chairman RSC
I thought I would like to add some comments and additional information to the recent e-mail concerning the reading of The Wheel of Life on Sunday 14th July at Lewdown Victory Hall.
Anthony Richards has agreed to join us for the afternoon.
We are both excited and hopeful that we will be able to appoint Anthony as Director.
- The afternoon will include an introduction to the play, some reading of scenes and some practical workshop activity, to get the feeling for working together in the style of the production.
- There will be no casting on the 14th July 2019. Nor will there be any pressure to commit, but please come along and enjoy the afternoon of reading and workshop activity.
- There will, of course, be the usual Red Spider refreshments.
Anthony’s comments to me are:
I’m excited to work with Red Spider again, to bring to life the intimate and contemplative play that Ron Wawman has written. Whilst it features Sabine Baring-Gould as a key figure, the play is about what can happen in a large family when faced with the death of a loved parent and when younger members have energy and different ideas about what their future might be. We can plan to make this an evening of careful and compelling drama which can touch all ages.
Calling all actors and other interested parties! Red Spider Company invite you to join us for the read-through of ‘The Wheel of Life’ a new play by Ron Wawman.
- We also welcome interest for the following roles and activities. If acting is not for you then you may be interested in getting involved in other aspects of the production. We are looking for a Director, production team and back stage members.
- We are delighted to be joined for the read-through by Anthony Richards, Artistic Director of the Common Players Theatre Company.
- You do not have to be a member of Red Spider Company to attend and you do not have to commit yourself to taking things any further if you would rather not. Just come and enjoy yourself.
